BELO HORIZONTE (MG)
Praça da Liberdade, Liberty Square, is the principal square in Belo Horizonte. The square is flanked by the Governor’s Palace and former office buildings of the Government of Minas Gerais. These buildings are now being reformed to serve as museums. The square itself is divided in two by two lanes of imperial palm trees. Both parts are planted with a variety of trees and shrubs. Fountains and statues complete the scenery. The city of Belo Horizonte puts significant effort to decorate its principal square with large decoration pieces and many lights. During the nights before Christmas, especially during the weekend, the square is crowded by people enjoying and admiring the colorful decorations. They take many pictures, record some movies, and eat some hot-dogs at the mobile stands flanking the square.
DECORATIONS IN 2008:
We’re more alike than different. This looks just like Christmas in the U.S. 🙂 https:davidsway.blog Please follow us!
