We had left the border between Minas Gerais and Bahia behind is. We were on the way from Vitória da Conquista to Tanhaçu. The mountainous landscape, typical for Minas Gerais, has been transformed to an hilly landscape. You may observe clearly, that the rain season had ended months ago. The lush green that had appeared after the abundant downpours, has turned into pale green and yellow, and even brown, at locations where groundwater is beyond reach. Many trees lose their leafs, just as in The Netherlands; their bare branches point into the clear blue sky. A blue sky, with some layers of small, white clouds at the horizon. There was not any indication that we could be surprised by a fierce downpour. We calmly continued our way through Bahia, and I made my photographs of the breathtaking landscape. The photographs below have undergone minor adaptations, such as contrast enhancement, but show a surprisingly picturesque effect, thanks to the movements of my arms in a riding bus, compared to the static landscape:
