Destination Salvador, capital of the state of Bahia.
Photo impression of a late afternoon on Itaparica Island.
Wednesday 26 July, 5 pm.
Itaparica Island is located in Baia de Todos os Santos (All Saints’ Bay), at a few kilometers distance from downtown Salvador. The island is popular among tourists because of the beautiful beaches. Below a photographic impression of Ponta da Areia late in the afternoon.
Itaparica Island is not an inhabited island. On the contrary: the island measures 246 square kilometers, with a maximum length of 36 kilometers, and hosts about 55 thousand inhabitants. Itaparica Island is not only an island of beaches and amusement, but hosts basic facilities for the inhabitants. However, many Brazilians associate Itaparica Island with beaches only.
