Dia do Compositor Brasileiro
(Brazilian composer). Thanks to the various (musical) influences that were carried by migrants to Brazil, Brazilian music is a rich blend of styles and rhythms, which gradually has evolved into a unique Brazilian style. Brazil has generated a number of talented composers: Adoniran Barbosa, Chiquinha Gonzaga, Pixinguinha, Carlos Gomes, Chico Buarque, Ivan Lins, to name a few. Best known Brazilian composer is Heitor Villa-Lobos (1887-1959), who has composed more than 1000 compositions, and who has founded Academia Brasileira de Música (Brazilian Music Academy) in 1945.

This manifest marked the creation of Ação Integralista Brasileira (Brazilian Integralist Action), a fascist Brazilian movement. Plínio was poet, writer and philosopher in his daily life. The integralism was related to fascism en corporatism, and fiercely opposed against Marxism, liberalism and socialism. The movement was inspired upon fascism from Germany and Italy. The Hitler salute was introduced. And Plínio copied the Hitler mustache. However, Plínio was fiercely opposed against Hitler’s antisemitism and racism. Initially, his party was tolerated by president Vargas, until 1938, when the party tried to seize power. The party was forbidden then. Until 1945, Plínio was expelled. After his return to Brazil., Plínio had some political and administrative functions, and made an important contribution to the 1964 coup.
