Promulgation of the fifth Constitution of the Brazilian Republic (sixth of Brazil).
The promulgation was approved by the National Congress, as proposed by Carlos Medeiros Silva, minister of Justice during the Castello Branco government. The promulgation came into effect on 15 March 1967.
