Dia Internacional de Defesa do Consumidor.
(World Consumer Rights Day). It was U.S. President John F. Kennedy who formally addressed consumer rights on 15 March 1962. He was the first world leader to do so:

“Consumers by definition include us all. They are the largest economic group, affecting and affected by almost every public and private economic decision. Yet they are the only important group… whose views are often not heard.”

YouTube site blocked in Brazil.

The ban was to prevent viewing the video of Daniella Cicarelli. A paparazzo shot a video of her having sex with her boyfriend on a beach in Spain. A lawsuit resulted in the ban for two days. YouTube won the case in 2007, but the lawsuit is still going on.

Renault fired one thousand workers in São José dos Campos, for a period of five months.

Birth of Raimundo Teixeira Mendes, designer of the Brazilian national flag.

Raimundo was philosopher and mathematician, and is also credited for the Brazilian motto “Ordem e Progresso’ (Order and Progress).

(Citrus grower). The Brazilian citrus plantations are largely concentrated in the state of São Paulo. Along with the US state of Florida makes this state 90 percent of the world orange juice production.

Dia Mundial dos Oceanos
(World Ocean Day). This day was established during the Earth Summit (ECO92) in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. Although the World Ocean Day hasn’t been officially established by the United Nations, this day is widely celebrated at the Zoos, aquariums, universities, schools and by various environmental groups.
