Episode 30: Images of a percussion show by music school Didá.
Tuesday 25 July, 9 pm.
Didá is well known Salvador. Music school Didá was founded in 1993, as an nonprofit educational institution. Dida’s target group consists of women who want to develop themselves. The school provides them opportunities to study regular and music education. In Yorubá language, Didá means “The Power of Creation”, and was the world’s first female samba reggae band. The band regularly has shows in Salvador, mainly on Fridays. But we were fortunate to witness an extra street performance in the streets of Pelourinho.
